Potala Palace China
The second-largest tourist attraction in China is the Potala Palace. Many tourists from different parts of the world are here. In 1994, UNESCO listed it as a World Heritage Site. Many tourists visit the palace, but no one is allowed access to more than 1,600 tourists a day.
It is the home of the Tibetan spiritual chief, Dalai Lama, located in Lhasa, Tibet. After being occupied by Tibet China, in 1969, the fourteenth Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso left the palace, accompanied by his followers, secretly departed from Tibet to India, and took refuge in the Indian government.
There is an amazing palace, known as the Potala Palace. This was the main residence of the Dalai Lama until the fourteenth Dalai Lama. After they moved there in 1969, it is now used as a museum. The palace is 400 meters to the north-south and 350 meters to the east-west. The walls of the palace are three meters thick. The 13-story palace has more than a thousand rooms.
The palace is decorated with nearly two lakh sculptures. The palace is built at the top of the mountain three thousand 700 meters above sea level and about 300 meters above the ground. The first palace was built in 637 by King Sansthan Gompo. However, the Fifth Dalai Lama joined the construction of some buildings in 1645 and the construction of the palace was completed in 1694. There are buildings like the White Palace, the Red Palace, the Big West Hall.
The palace may be a good destination for tourists to enjoy.
