• Former President Jimmy Carter

    Jimmy Carter is an American politician, author, and member of the Democratic Party. Who served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. He was born on October 1, 1924, in the Wise Sanitarium in the Plains of Georgia, US. This place is currently called the Lillian G. Carter Nursing Center. His father's name was James Earl Carter Sr, a businessman. Mother Bessie Lillian was a nurse.

    Jimmy Carter was a member of the Democratic Party. He previously served as Georgia State Senator from 1963 to 1967. And served as the 76th Governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975. Carter has been active in the private sector since retiring as president.

    During Carter's presidency, two new cabinet-level departments, the Department of Energy and the Department of Education were established. He established a national fuel policy that included conservation, price control, and new technology. On foreign affairs, Carter pursued the Camp David Accords, the second round of the Panama Canal Agreement, the Second Round of Strategic Weapons Limitation Talk and the Panama Canal Region's return to Panama. On the economic front, he faces steady stagnation, a combination of high inflation, high unemployment, and slow growth. Iran hostage crisis near the end of his presidency. Carter forgave all draft cycles of the Vietnam War.

    In 1982, Carter founded the Carter Center to promote and promote human rights. He has traveled extensively in developing countries to discuss peace, monitor elections and advance disease prevention and eradication.

    Jimmy Carter spent his childhood in Georgia. Carter attended Plains High School until 1941. Jimmy was a hardworking student. As a teenager, Carter played on the Plains High School basketball team; He joined the Future Farmers of America and developed a lifelong interest in woodworking. He finished college at Georgia Southwestern State University. He then graduated from the Naval Academy.

    Career

    After completing his studies, Cutter joined the United States Navy. There he worked on a submarine. But after his father's death in 1953, he quit sailing and returned to Georgia to take up his family's peanut-growing business. Over time, the ambition to expand and grow the peanut business was fulfilled. He then joined politics. In 1970, he was elected governor of Georgia. Until 1975, he served as governor. He won the 1976 Democratic presidency. Although he was not very familiar. He served as US President until 1981.

    Personal Life

    Jimmy Carter married Eleanor Rosalynn Carter in 1946. They have three sons, one daughter. His sons are Jack Carter, Donnel Carter, James Carter and an only daughter, Amy Carter. In his personal life, Carter and his wife were very good friends.

    Honor & Awards

    Carter has received numerous awards and accolades in his life. He won the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize, a response to President George W. Bush's threat to war against Iraq and to Carter's criticism of the Bush administration. He also received the UN Human Rights Award, in recognition of human rights and the Hoover Medal, recognizing engineers who have contributed to global causes. Several organizations and locations have been named in his honor. All the awards he receives are -

    • The World War II Victory Medal in 1958.
    • Carter received the Golden Plate Award at the American Academy of Achievement in 1984.
    • The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum were opened in 1986.
    • In 1998, the US Navy honored former President Carter with the name of the third and last Seoul-class submarine.
    • Nobel Prize in 2002.
    • Carter has been nominated nine times for the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for recording audio of his books.
    • Jimmy Carter Regional Airport has been renamed as South America Airport in Georgia.
